Avoid the sun: Parking in direct sunlight is going to shorten the lifespan of your windshield. When possible, try to park in shaded cool places. If this isn’t an option, put up a windshield sun shade to protect your windows.

You can certainly get a lot more out of it if you sell it piece by piece. Then again, if you don’t have the time to sell the parts, then it might be in your best interest to take it to a salvage yard and allow them to buy it off of you. It’s cheaper. This, should really go without saying. Buying new parts for a restoration project can be very expensive. Many older cars require spare parts that are no longer made by the manufacturer and so they have to be sourced from specialist suppliers. This can mean that they are much more expensive than the original parts and they can often be very hard to get a hold of. If the parts are too expensive it may mean that the car itself has become uneconomic to repair or restore.
